Recent Reads: September

I’m sharing what I’ve been reading and listening to in the month of September.

I finished two eBooks this month. I was previously not much of a fan of eBooks, preferring the traditional turn-a-page paperbacks, but since having a baby, eBooks have become my preference. Trying to juggle a physical book and a baby can be a challenge, so eBooks provide the convenience that I crave.

The first that I finished – and loved – was If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane. I loved the characters, their chemistry and their development. It was the type of modern rom-com that I’ve been looking for. This book made me laugh but also made me feel the lows that Laurie did when she was having to restart her life. I’m definitely putting this one in the favourites pile.

The second that I breezed through was Moonlight Over Manhattan by Sarah Morgan. I’d never read a Sarah Morgan book before, but I can see why she’s a best seller, especially of holiday-themed romances. This book was easy to read and though it was quite predictable, it was very sweet.

I’m currently listening to Where’s My Happy Ending? by Anna Whitehouse and Matt Farquharson. Honestly, I’m about halfway through this book and I have laughed out loud more times than I can count. But besides being bloody hilarious, the book also covers a lot of topics and issues about love, marriage and relationships that are all too relatable.

It’s taken me a while, and I’m not quite finished, but I’m thoroughly enjoying The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. I love the stark contrast in how each point of view is written because it really gets you into the character’s mind. I’ve also laughed out loud while reading this book and even though it’s taken a long time for me to get through it (compared to the eBooks), it’s been a lovely ride.

What have you been reading this month? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!
