I know it’s a cliche, but can you believe that March has come and gone already? It’s been a whirlwind, but in the best kind of way.
Reading
I finished off three physical books this month. I found them all very entertaining but Better Than The Movies by Lynn Painter stood out. I loved Wes and Liz so much that I went out and bought the book so I can re-read it whenever I want. I love the young adult genre because my teenage-book-loving self gets to squeal uncontrollably anytime the first kiss is about to happen. It’s cathartic.
I also read Bad Girl Reputation by Elle Kennedy and if Better Than The Movies was living vicariously for my teenager self, this book was living vicariously through someone who is the complete opposite to my goody-two-shoes nature. I love a bad boy book boyfriend because we all know that bad boys in real life probably have below average oral hygiene and have a wardrobe in the boot of their car. But bad boy book boyfriends? Dreamy.
The other book that I read was So Not Meant To Be by Meghan Quinn. It was my first book by this author and I’ve read that some of her others are better. This one was quite long and I did skip ahead to the end (*gasp!*) and read the ending.
Watching
I went all out on cheesy romance movies this month and finally watched Falling Inn Love. All I can say is: wow. But also, I didn’t hate it and Christina Milian is still awesome.
Netflix also sold me on This Little Love of Mine, which was advertised as ‘Australian’. But, Netlix, oh, you liar, you! Where were the Australians? It may have been filmed in Australia, but there were only American accents to be found.
The last movie I watched this month is probably one of my all time favourites: Center Stage. I may make a Charlie Pinterest board and use him for some character inspo. Swoon much?
Listening
I didn’t finish off any audiobooks last month, but I’ve been using playlists to be more productive. Working from home sometimes means that I need some background music so I don’t feel so alone. In particular, I found two YouTubers, Sinpai and RogueSky, who kept me company and got me working.
Life
I’m particularly excited about the progress (and some non-progress) that I made on my novel last month. I’ve printed out my manuscript, booked in my cover art and had a sample edit with an editor that I really want to book with. There’s a lot of work to do before sending off the whole manuscript to an editor, but I’m excited to make progress in the next few months.
Life, otherwise, is settling back into routine, except for potty training. Potty training can bite me.
